About Us

Our Mission

We are the Oral Health Association of Australia (OHAA) - the peak professional association representing Oral Health Practitioners (OHPs - dental hygienists, dental therapists and oral health therapists) here to support and promote the continued growth and development of oral health across Australia. 

Our Constitution

The OHAA pursues our objects through a range of activities and services that include, but are not limited to:

  • supporting excellence in innovative models of care that improve oral health in the community;
  • setting high quality evidence-based standards, developing relevant policies and advocating for best practice for the oral health profession;
  • communicating with and supporting members;
  • providing evidence-based professional development;
  • promoting oral health literacy and awareness of the oral health profession throughout the Australian community;
  • advocating for the interests of members, enhancing professional recognition of Oral Health Practitioners, and being a unified voice for preventive oral health care;
  • fostering tertiary undergraduate and postgraduate education and research;
  • abiding by principles of effective, transparent, ethical and financial governance; and
  • undertaking appropriate activities that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the Objects.
